This is one of the better Batman movies, mainly because of its directing. The movie looks beautiful and the action is awesome. I love the practical effects and real stunts used during the car chase. I really liked the cinematography which was done by Greig Fraser, who also did Dune. There's a lot to like although it's still a superhero movie. One thing I don't understand is this movie's insistence on gritty realism when the fundamental idea is ridiculous. They work so hard to make Batman's tech seem realistic, but I couldn't get over how half of his face is completely exposed. Not only does that not make sense considering how many people are constantly shooting at him but there's a scene where a bomb goes off in his face and he doesn't have a scratch. It's moments like that which remind me this is still a superhero movie and you can only expect so much. Even so, it's a lot of fun to see on the big screen and I enjoyed seeing Robert Pattinson in this.
