  • Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker

Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker

⚠️5.0/10 - Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker is an incredibly disappointing conclusion to the Skywalker saga. It’s a rushed, messy, beautiful film that has a lot of things going for it. For example, every time Kylo Ren was on screen I really enjoyed it as he is easily the best character in this new trilogy. However Rey felt way too overpowered and since the film felt rushed, the emotional beats of the movie felt like they didn’t hit as…

  • Jumanji: The Next Level

    Jumanji: The Next Level

👍🏻7.5/10 - Jumanji: The Next Level is not as fresh and original as Welcome to The Jungle was, but with a great performance from the cast plus Danny DeVito which is always a plus. This is a guaranteed good time at the theater.

  • Knives Out

    Knives Out

⭐️9.5/10 - Knives Out is an amazing take on the who dunnit genre with an amazing cast, a compelling story, and a twist almost at every point in the story subverting your expectations in a movie that it’s ok to do it in unlike Last Jedi. This is the stuff I want to see Rian Johnson do more of.

  • Frozen II

    Frozen II

👌🏻6.0/10 - Frozen 2 is a decent sequel to the original Frozen that expands on the mythology of the world they live in with some good songs as well, even though musicals aren’t my thing. Unfortunately every time the film cut to a song it felt out of place and immediately took me out of the movie which was quite a few times. Also Olaf is great.

  • 21 Bridges

    21 Bridges

👌🏻6.0/10 - 21 Bridges is a decent time at the movies as it is slickly made with some decent action, however there is nothing new to this movie and this movie could’ve probably been much better if The Russos were directing instead of producing.

  • Terminator: Dark Fate

    Terminator: Dark Fate

✅8.5/10 - It’s too bad that Terminator: Dark Fate is underperforming because it is easily the best film in the franchise since T2 and I hope we get a sequel to this because everybody was at the top of their game including Linda Hamilton returning as Sarah Connor. Whilst the opening 5 minutes may be divisive, I thought it worked as it offered something different and that’s what this franchise needs, even though the basic plot is similar to T2. Arnold is also as always amazing.

  • Zombieland: Double Tap

    Zombieland: Double Tap

✅8.5/10 - Zombieland: Double Tap is a worthy successor to the original that has a very similar template, it is still a great time at the movies with fun new characters and it’s the best horror-comedy I’ve seen all year.

  • Joker

⭐️9.5/10 - Joker is an awesome take on the character as Joaquin Phoenix gives arguably the best Joker performance including Heath Ledger and the movie is a tragedy as you see Arthur going down this dark path. This movie is amazing and will live on as an iconic Joker story.

  • It Chapter Two

    It Chapter Two

👍🏻7.5/10 - It Chapter 2 had a perfect adult cast with a standout performance by Bill Hader and another very intimidating Pennywise with some more good scares, but outside of 2-3 scenes I wasn’t very scared and the first movie felt scarier than this one. Also the runtime was way too long as the 2nd act felt very repetitive, dragging this movie’s score down when it could’ve been much better. However I cannot deny that the ending of the film…

  • Good Boys

    Good Boys

✅8.5/10 - Good Boys is definitely the funniest movie I’ve seen all year and satisfies everyone with great laughs. Outside of the laughs there is some heart as well particularly at the end which I did not expect. This is a must watch if you were interested by the trailers.

  • Fast & Furious Presents: Hobbs & Shaw

Fast & Furious Presents: Hobbs & Shaw

✅8.0/10 - Hobbs and Shaw is an insane blast at the movies and satisfies every need that you would need from a fast and furious spinoff. The chemistry from The Rock and Statham is right on point and it makes this movie. Go check this one out.

  • The Lion King

    The Lion King

❌3.0/10 - The Lion King is yet another live-action remake that tries to do nothing new with the source material. The visuals may be gorgeous, but the story is much worse along with the songs and voice acting. It felt like they only hired Beyoncé for her singing talent and not for how she matched as the character. Same can be said for most other characters, aside for Timone and Pumba. This is a very underwhelming movie for what it could’ve been. Which we got in 1994.
