it’s not often i find a historical drama i actually enjoy but to the stars was a thoroughly enjoyable film! it did make my heart ache because as a lesbian it is melancholic to see how lesbians were treated not so long ago. i know that without them progress would’ve never been made. every lesbian that tried to live her life openly pushed the needle closer to where it is today. but hazel and maggie truly deserved so much better. like iris, i hope that maggie simply turned up her nose at the petty people of Wakita and found her way to the city so she could live as her true self. i would honestly recommend this movie so hard. i’m surprised it doesn’t have much buzz around it. also, i’m noticing a trend where any movie that liana liberato is in, i enjoy. she’s a great actress!!
