I loved the direction of this and the lead performance is incredibly compelling but the screenplay bummed me out. I was shocked by how much this film affected me. I went in expecting a by-the-numbers Mr. Rodgers biopic and, instead, it is an oddly experimental, dark, adult drama. Heller really brings her A-Game to the visual style of this film and is able to transcend some, at times, clunky dialogue.
