Horse Girl

Horse Girl ★★★★½

this touches on several aspects of derealization through the lens of Sarah who specifically gets deeply sucked into some intensely niche conspiracy theories. sarah, who's got a fractured, barely retained, barely disclosed, history. her actualization of childhood filtered through riding english on a horse named willow. adulthood an hourly employee at a locally owned craft store both ironically and unironically called Great Lengths. Waking up to the dial tone of a payphone in a street she doesn't know. Sometimes attempting to discuss her mental health stuff only to then immediately "never mind" it away when the fear of her bodily & mindful autonomy being taken seems ever near. Scared all the time. So empathic. maybe it's not that deep. the fuck if i know. alison brie is harrowingly good in this. byyyeeee
