Chaplin put together a fantastic blend of moments of sadness with moments of hilarity--and some awesome foot chases. It's a sentimental piece of filmmaking and parenthood. To paraphrase from The Night of the Hunter: The Kid abides and he endures. Also, Chaplin was the originator of "Fuck the police." I see the influence he had on N.W.A.
