The Green Knight

The Green Knight

The Green Knight starts with a 30 second long, long shot of some farm animals milling around a grey landscape causing me to do the biggest 😑 face, I just felt over it with A24. To my surprise the pace quickens immediately and it’s atmosphere began to feel genuinely fun. The Green Knight’s character performances drive everything special about the film, which is rare for me to say because I have a really hard time connecting with medieval characters. The Green Knight closely examines so many emotions that are generally hard to put your finger on.

There are plenty of points when the Green Knight can’t resist tapping into the regular A24 naval gazing trappings which on a whole feel tired and overwrought, can we please move on? I still highly recommend you see it and can’t wait to hear what you have to say about it.
