Englishpsycho’s review published on Letterboxd:
The sequel certainly lives up to the expectations it’s predecessor has set. Literally everything about this film is great.
My favourite thing is the flashback to Vito Corleone’s life. Robert De Niro was perfect for this role. Vito’s life was so interesting. To see how he was introduced to the life of crime.
The ending was pretty much similar to the first one but I felt different emotions whilst watching this one. You don’t feel a sense of justice like you did in the first one. The final shot of Michael sat in his chair contemplating his actions suggests that he pretty much has no one left in his life now apart from his children.
Overall, The Godfather part 2 was a brilliant sequel which includes more of the same of what we loved in the first one.
