The issue with casting Tony Leung in your movie is that he’ll likely make his adjacent cast members look like amateurs, no matter their prowess. The bigger issue with casting Tony Leung to work adjacent Simu Liu, who’s less an actor than a jazzy stuntman, is he will make him look like he learned to walk and talk only yesterday, never mind act.
Hoped for more with Shang Chi, unsurprised with less. Still fun! Cool combat! Just not the revolutionary stuff it was made out to be. Greyscale CGI overwhelms yet again in the final third and character development all but disappears, although that is the nature of this beast. Eternals better!
Don’t get on a bus with Simu Liu or Bob Odenkirk!
