Goofy n camp n daft. Genuinely distinctive in a plethora of indistinct movies. Raimi the first director in the MCU to make his comic book movie feel like a comic book (and like his own). Plot clunky n characterisation weak, but when the wild creativity of this dude’s own mind of madness pays off, it really pays off. So many brilliantly unnecessary pulp Raimi camera angles and music choices. Super weird shit imbued within the disjointedness here, ideal starter pack for kids into horror. Elfman and Raimi flexing in that scene is glorious. Main issue with these Dr Strange movies is Talking Cardboard Cumberbatch. If it wasn’t for the make-up you wouldn’t know when he’s a zombie and when not. Anyway, a blast. This is what happens when you cut real filmmakers some slack, Marvel
