  I really wanted to enjoy this.

  The good: costumes and visuals were stunning. Good acting performances, particularly from Hsu and Quan. The actors did the best with what they were given.

  The neutral: the overall message of the film was good, but incredibly overplayed and could’ve hit in a much more heartfelt way.
