Andrew Elssmann’s review published on Letterboxd:
Surprisingly, I enjoyed this movie a lot more than I expected to going in. After watching the trailer, I assumed I had seen basically the entire movie, but I was pleasantly surprised. Solid story, good action, great cgi, and way better acting than Black Adam (although the bar was very low). I actually liked this sequel a fair bit more than the first film, which I was not expecting. And perhaps most surprising, I actually thought the Shazam family dynamic was well done in this film. I didn’t care for it at the end of the first Shazam and wasn’t expecting to in this one either, but the sibling Shazam scenes were in general very entertaining.
