My favourite Hitchcock film.
I’ve read the book by Daphne Du Maurier, written around in 1938, around a year prior to the beginning of filming. Again like most older films that are based off books, they tend to stick to the actual storyline like this film does.
Though Hitchcock’s first American film, the film still shows its English roots as it has and English director, English characters, actors and is set at the fictional mansion of Manderley in the countryside…
