I've been struggling to put into words how much I loved this film, but I'm going to try anyway. Everything Everywhere All at Once is one of the best films I've ever seen and probably the best I've seen in the past decade, it's absurdly funny while at the same time emotionally resonate.
Part One: Everything just throws so much absurd set pieces and imagery your way that it's almost too much. I haven't laughed this much and out loud…
Decided to rewatch this movie yesterday, and it remains one of my favorite movies of all time. I haven't given a single 5* on this site yet, but I feel like with this rewatch, I'm comfortable giving it to Ed Wood.
This movie has a lot of heart, it both celebrates the man himself and playfully makes fun of without ever feeling mean or negative. It genuinely feels timeless, a classic and one that I'll continue to revisit every few years. If you haven't seen this movie, I simply can't recommend it enough, it's Tim Burton's best movie.
The Suicide Squad is great fun and my favorite of James Gunn's Super Hero movies... not counting Super. Easily stands with the best Marvel movies and miles ahead of all the other DCEU movies. It's funny when it wants to be, has good action throughout, and a surprisingly strong cast of anti-heroes. The story is fun enough, but it doesn't try to be more than it is... a Comic Book movie making fun of American Imperialism.
On a personal side note, why they gotta make Bloodsport and Ratcatcher 2's armor designs so sexy???
After 11 years and 22 films this era of the Marvel Cinematic Universe comes to an end and I'm glad it's on such an absolute high note. Avengers: Endgame is a beautiful love letter to the MCU and it's fans, the Russo brothers and all involved achieved something I didn't think possible with this film, making an emotional and satisfying ending to the Infinity Saga and these characters.
I left the theater in tears, watching a finale to something that's…
