The Hidden Fortress

The Hidden Fortress ★★★★★

Widely known for offering the plot elements to George Lucas mainstream masterpiece Star Wars - Episode IV: A New Hope (1977), Kurosawa embarks us on a journey where the key elements of survival are concentration, initiative and the direction of the wind, wherever it takes you. A beautiful opening and an extraordinary fight scene are the highlights, but the story becomes more gripping than anything else at a certain moment of the movie. Among Kurosawa's most underrated.
