David Grillo’s review published on Letterboxd:
In a material world its sacrilegious to hate christmas meanwhile nothing is American made anyway, Gremlins in our homes indeed. A place where everything seems to fit-in, a fantasy. So much of our material world contains its own logic that it is fascinating to see the simple spin Joe Dante puts on things to turn it all into a living cartoon it also brings back a simpler time both in the Americana it represents and the way the film is made. Our things are like a way of life and that way of life is changing you look around now and you don't recognize things anymore and I felt that way when I watched this film the way we look at ourselves has changed. It makes me sympathize with the feeling and decor of middle America. America's struggle with wanting to stay "small" in a large country.
