I like to watch things.
It’s almost entirely about the work from DDL and Dano, right? The production as a whole is an impressive one and there’s a tower of fire and a Jonny Greenwood score, but most of those butts were in those seats to see DDL go off the rails.
Well buddy, he still delivers.
35mm screening to a nearly full house at the Plaza! Presented by some local production company… Wax & Wane? IDK. I think they pulled a crowd somehow.
It’s a bigger, flashier scenario, and the whole world knows who Blanc is! I enjoyed the fame element of his presence this time. Happy to have seen it in a mostly-full theater with some loved ones. The crowd (in the conservative suburbs, I’ll add) reacted well and seemed to love it. My mom didn’t, I’m sorry to say, but I’m proud of her for giving it a shot.
Janelle obviously steals most of the show. Goddess. Amazing.
Norton is kind…
I think it lacks some amount of focus, maybe?
But for shock value, crowd reaction, and pure fun entertainment points, it’s RILL GOOD.
I yelled with SEVERAL different emotions throughout this film’s running time.
Minus one star for the fact that they didn’t incorporate Dr. Orpheus from Venture Bros. even a little bit. COME ON. 🤟👁
