i like my films starring women and made by women
This just might be one of the best films I’ve watched in so long.
A story where the main source of conflict and heartbreak wasn’t the relationship between these two teenage girls was so refreshing and unexpected, it made everything feel more real, and raw.
I wish I had this movie when I was a teenager, because the absence of “coming out” and the focus on the love and trust forming between Claudia and Grace allowed for a new story…
I’ve started my annual “let’s watch the terrible lifetime/hallmark/netflix christmas films because there’s a chance the lead actress was in a show I like and no longer has a steady job and even though the film is garbage I will fall in love with her” tradition. I do this so by the time I reach mid-december, I can watch the good christmas films.
that being said:
- sarah drew i love you
- for the love of god, never let the children in this movie act in another film again
