Kill Bill: Vol. 1 2003
my late dad's favorite film. i watched this tonight with my family to honour him and his life. when i first saw it, i was thoroughly entertained by it and it's brilliant stylistic action and beautiful colours. watching it tonight though, it felt like some kind of nigh religious experience for me. every single scene in this film is perfect. every spurt of blood, every swipe with a katana, every single god damn shot is artwork. this is a god damn movie. my dad really did have the best taste. i miss you more than you could ever know dad. rest in peace.

watched this on a shitty hotel tv while feeling sick so I might like it more on rewatch but for now it's just ok

wow! Marty's outdone himself yet again. at every second, i was constantly asking myself "is this real??? is this a real film that's actually been released??" now, i have some criticisms. some of the visuals made it seen like an acid trip. hell, some of the cinematography was very reminiscent of real acid trips. but no, i was definitely not on acid - marty just did a superb job as usual! i couldn't have been on acid. i wasn't just on acid. this movie is real.
