Spent it at the movies
The four favorites are the recent “first-watches”
that I liked the most
It’s been quite a while since I could last sit through an entire film, paying proper attention and being adequately engaged. Call it watcher’s fatigue or just damn old lack of time, this day-to-day activity that is most usual to most users of this platform had been absent from my routine for quite some months, and has surely been missed. For this reason or not, this comeback watch caught me off-guard, and got me quite moved. Underlying the inherent quirkiness and unusual post-modern premise, there’s an uplifting, reassuring and very heartwarming message at play here, one that subtly blossomed like a beautiful flour.
“Other animals live in the present. Humans cannot. So they invented hope”
Lot to process. Interesting flick. It’s amazing how Kaufman so smoothly engages us into this “stream-of-counciousness” cinema that brings all these twisted but brilliant conjectures of his. Looking forward to watching A Woman Under the Influence. Probably later this week.
