Between 1959 and 1973 a group of French filmmakers changed cinema as all who had known it with the rejection of literary period pieces and the embracing of a new youthful spirit, often shooting on location and exploring socio-political themes of the time as well as a host of other creative and technical signatures that gave the movement its look and feel and impact on the cinema landscape.
I'm slowly working my way through all of the French New Wave films I can find (there's quite a few of them) and ranking them from my favourite to least favourite as i go along.
