EddieRhino’s review published on Letterboxd:
This is a prime example of a film that would not survive 2021. It is full of blatant sexism, racism, and characters who are awful human beings. That being said however, this movie was funny as fuck. Yeah yeah yeah I get that I’m not supposed to like a film like this especially in this day and age but for fucks sake can I like whatever I want? The screenplay was amazing in this film and after the first half hour or so, plus a little part in the middle, this film was a fucking ride. So many amazing pranks and amazing plot lines. The acting was superb as well. Donald Sutherland and Elliott Gould team up amazingly well and have such good chemistry between the two of them. If you are going to watch this film, I recommend just enjoying it and trying not to pay too much attention to the sexism and racism throughout the film. It is hysterical and I absolutely loved it.
(If you get bored in the first half hour or so, just stick with it, it gets better)
