This was a very enjoyable movie. The animation style was brilliant as always from Pixar and it had some great characters. It flowed quite nicely and had a good build up to the climax. However, there were some parts of the film that I really just didn’t like. First off the story was incredibly predictable and the themes were quite unoriginal. I found myself knowing just about everything that was going to happen in the movie before it did. Also…

Ok the first hour of this film was a complete shit show. The final half hour wasn’t all that bad, it was surprisingly decent. Even still, I laughed at this movie like only once or twice, it really wasn’t very funny. The first one I was absolutely dying but this one just wasn’t all that funny. Rewatch Sunday (sorta)
So I have been really busy lately and so I only got around to rewatch Sunday today. Anyway this was a ton better than the first time around. This movie definitely exceeded my expectations. Sure I expected it to be good but it was such an intriguing story. Probably my favorite Kurosawa at the moment. My biggest complaint would be that it felt like it lost a bit of steam in the final half hour. The first hour and change were all great. The acting was solid and Kurosawa is always great behind the camera. I’m just happy to finally cross this movie off of my watchlist, it’s been there forever.
