While the story itself is pretty paint-by-the-numbers, it all works beautifully because of Adam Sandler’s award-worthy performance. Not as “showy” as his role in Uncut Gems, but just as powerful. I loved this one.

Scream 2022
This was everything I wanted it to be, and more. It is brutal, emotional, funny and, yes, scary. I love the new cast, and I love how the original cast is incorporated in this film. The opening scene is amazing. SCREAM pays homage to the films that came before it, while still being different enough to move the franchise forward. Plenty of twists in this one, and lots to be spoiled. I adore this movie, and want to see it over and over again.

It’s visually impressive, and a bit more emotional than you’d think. However, the clunky dialogue and its painfully predictable storyline turns this into a movie not worth spending your time on.
