Bunch of narrative flaws in this one and it has a tone where it bounces a lot between comedy and harsh, serious drama in a way that doesn't quite come across as convincing, on top of just a lot of stuff that seems inexplicably introduced. This genuinely has one of the most horrifying endings I've seen in a movie, and this movie is such an oddity from a time when there was more of an artistry to porn - so there's this entire story about the nine circles of hell, eroticism, sexual pain and emotional repression, and there's quite a lot to it which surprisingly works. The final scene is really grim but also feels like a really dark punchline.
