    Forbid empathy. Trust no one.

Fincher’s latest seems a bit cliche and in the hands of a less competent director probably wouldn’t work all that well but with the master cynic behind the wheel and an icy, emotionless performance from Fassbender, we’re gifted with a thrilling, action packed psychological assassin film that works on multiple levels. Also I didn’t know bucket hats were a hit man thing, I wear them all the time.

Power over spice is power over all.

Let me just start by saying Florence Pugh is an absolute queen and I would go to battle for her. Now, idk what to even write about this. There’s nothing my dumb, yappin ass can say that will do this beautiful work of art justice but I will say this, go fucking see it immediately.

Also, lol at whoever said Butler’s performance was as good as Heath in TDK. He was incredible but the guys only in the film for 30 minutes max. Would liked to have seen more screen time from him.

exactly what I needed. The way this blends a sense of high stakes paranoia with such run of the mill simplicity works so well. I also love how this can be interpreted in a handful of ways which is thanks to the complexity and depth of the two leads who are both scumbags. The most interesting characters are the ones we have nothing in common with.

Also, something strange I noticed about this is how it weirdly would sort of pause and hold on people’s faces mid conversation, or am I just a schizo?

I knew Christopher Nolan had something special in store for us but let me just say: Holy. Fucking. Shit. This is not only Nolan’s best but one of the best films of the past 20 years. The performances are all phenomenal especially from Cillian Murphy, Benny Safdie and Emily Blunt but the real force driving this film is the storytelling. We know what’s going to happen yet there’s a nerve racking tension that locks you in and doesn’t let you out for 3 hours. I should sit on this for a while but I just can’t. The brilliance of Oppenheimer cannot be overstated.
