Wait, people say this is a bad film, are they crazy? I could understand if people placed this film just above Crystal Skull, but still really enjoy it. However, some people wholeheartedly despise this film. In my opinion, I was worried to rewatch it and dislike it due to fear of it being childhood nostalgia. My fears were not warranted, Temple of Doom seems to outdo each aspect of Raiders through set design and story, maybe not characters, but sometimes you can't have anything. If the two supporting roles were as interesting and didn't act as lighthearted fun to dampen the much darker atmosphere created, then this film would be an instant five stars. However, due to this it does lack. This is an unpopular opinion but I enjoy Temple of Doom a tad bit more than Raiders of the Lost Ark. Overall, the film is a nonstop thrill ride and whenever you feel like Spielberg cannot achieve more he throws another form of entertainment your way from Spikes to a heart wrenching cult.
