This is hornier than all the superhero movies of the 21st century put together.

    Favorite notes:
    - Bill Paxton was considered for the lead (damn!)
    - McDormand was roommates with Raimi and the Coen brothers.
    - A rebellious Bob Murawski secretly led a last minute recut without studio permission restoring a fraction of the nearly half hour that was cut after initial test screenings.
    - pretty much every scream is Bruce Campbell

Extremely fun, super well written, and honestly the most energetic and expressively animated big budget animated movie I’ve seen since Spider-Man. I have stopped expecting this kind of thing from Disney movies but we got it anyway somehow. That’s wild as hell!!

It’s also got a shit ton of early 2000s teen girl relatability stuff. Damn! Very cute!!

There is a fight scene at the end of the movie which is all pure anime speed lines, backgrounds dissolving into flat…

Dang—really fucking cute. I talked some shit about this when the marketing first started a few months ago because the posters I kept seeing for this were so bland and nothing-looking (just photos of the cops and the manticore standing there? I had no idea what I was looking at). The movie itself is pretty dang great, though. Got a couple of pretty intense emotional gut punches!

The movie has a charmingly humble and uncomplicated way of depicting high fantasy modern…

I don't have a particularly good reason for why I was looking forward to this, and definitely for the first chunk of it I was like "hmm, I'm not liking this as much as I wanted to" but at least I was also thinking "but it's not as bad as I heard it was."

I think they definitely take too many shortcuts at first which leads Tom Holland's character just coming across as a bit of a whiny wank, to…
