“Molly, they're going to see a smiling snatch if you don't fix this g-string.“

When we were kids, a friend and I watched Showgirls on Cinemax.  Except, neither of us actually had Cinemax, so we watched an extremely blurry, scrambled version on the channel that people who pay for Cinemax watch Showgirls.  Years later, that same friend inexplicably hid a copy of Showgirls on DVD under the desk in his dorm room.  True Story.

This is an actual movie.  Instead of watching the movie, I’d recommend simply reading the title.

“I had better sex in prison.”

The thing that stood out to me the most, was that Charlize Theron’s character gets a %50 off discount where she works.  %50! That seems awfully generous.  Employees could buy a bunch of stuff, resell It and make a pretty good profit.

“Ladies and Gentlemen, we have reached our cruising altitude of 33 thousand feet... 33 thousand feet? Oh s@&t man! We f@$&n’ higher than Redman at the Source Awards.”

This is my one of my friend Mikey’s favorite movies.  I realize that doesn’t mean much to most people. But, to those that know him, it speaks volumes.

Pretty bad, all around.  There’s more weird dancing scenes then fighting scenes.  And, why are they conducting “Particle Tests” at 2am?  Granted, I don’t know anything about “Particle Tests”.  But, it seems odd.

I’ll never listen to Phil Collins the same way again.  I think there was a sequel stating Mila Kunis.  Or, maybe not.  It doesn’t matter.

I’ve never been a huge fan of the James Bond films, but I loved Skyfall.  The only movie villain that I enjoyed watching more than Javier Bardem in this film, would probably be Bardem in “No Country for Old Men”.

My buddy agmoore24 and I have long considered Maverick one of our favorite and most quotable films.  This is a very funny & original movie featuring Mel Gibson at what is probably the top of his game.   Jodie Foster doesn’t really make bad movies, and James Garner is good too.....right?  Maverick is a very easy watch at any time of day with engaging characters and a fun plot.  Though I thoroughly enjoy both Superman & The Goonies, Maverick stands alone as my favorite Richard Donner film.

“I will now sell five copies of ‘The Three EPs’ by The Beta Band.”

High Fidelity proves that lists simply make everything better.  While, the premise is relatively simple, every time we meet a new ex, we see yet another reason why Rob isn’t able to be an adult functioning man who owns a record store and has adult relationships.  This film is well acted and does a great job of blending Robs personal like and his record store.

Billy Haywood’s grandfather has passed away.  As owner of the Minnesota Twins at the time of his death, he decided, despite, youth to leave the team to Billy?!  Who then, quickly decided to fire the current manager and name himself as successor.  This is ,of course, only possible in the Dunfee brothers favorite film, Little Big League.  Every scene treats the viewer as a kid at heart.  While, we quickly learn that adult…

    “HEY MILDRED! MILDRED!”

Directed by Bob Saget and starring Norm McDonald & Artí Lang, Dirty Work is an inspiring tale of American entrepreneurship & unshakable family loyalty.  It also made me piss my pants while laughing at Chris Farley talk about the Saigon whore that bit his nose off.  Every actor’s comedic timing and perfect delivery helps to make this one of my personal favorite comedies.  There is at times “slap-stick” comedy, with a little “off-the-Wall” humor, but, mostly just subtle or overt sarcasm.   Dirty Work still makes me laugh out loud, every time I watch.

“I’ll see you in Hell, William Munny.”

Looking back on a seemingly endless collection of films set in the Post Civil War Era of the American West, lead actor & director Clint Eastwood sets the bar with Unforgiven.  I’m a fan of nearly every western.  However, there is no film in the genre that depicts the crooked nature of small town law enforcement  and the quest for revenge quite like Unforgiven.  Justice, Ego, Love, Greed, Friendship & Prostitutes all help to fuel the spectacularly inevitable clash between ruthless gunman William Munny(Clint Eastwood) & Sheriff “Little” Bill Daggett(Gene Hackman). 1992 Academy Award Winner for Best Picture.
