People really got their future predictions wrong in the 60s-80s...

Just to note I watched the final cut version.

I've also got to mention that Roy Batty's final monologue is my favourite piece of dialogue in film. It's so heart-breaking yet beautiful culminating the entire arc of a character in just a couple sentences paired with Rutger Hauer's perfect delivery.

A thematically rich exploration of human nature and morality sprinkling the philosophy of the mind throughout. Hidden behind the guise…

So basically what this film is telling me is alcoholism is the key to happiness?

In all seriousness though, I've always gone by the rule that only films inside my top 10 can have a 5 star rating. But after watching this and not being able to remove one of my current favourites from that 5 star category I have no choice but to make it 11 instead. Because that was just a fantastic film.
    Exploring the depths of a…

I'm taken and I've already had my bi awakening... but damn!

It's easy to wave this of as a pure objectification of the male stars involved at a first glance but, to my surprise, it was something much more than that. It was funny, it was entertaining, it was obviously sexy, but it also had more complex plot threads of business and friendships for example, with some superficial grittiness added in and while they weren't the most in depth of…

Mark Hamill?! Is that really you?

Another special that hits its target. Some good Christmas fun with some good fun characters.
I haven't been a huge fan of Mantis up to this point but I appreciate her a lot more now and look forward to how she'll be incorporated into Vol. 3. I'm not going to consider this a spoiler considering all the reports at the moment and the fact that it's mentioned at the beginning of the special: I…

There's only so much vomiting I can take...

I honestly don't know how to feel about this film. I'm really not a fan of the fashion world and in a lot of ways this felt like a more grounded version of Don't Look Up at times which is a film I'm also not a fan of. However, the it's filmed very pristinely and I thought it was structured quite well. I liked the use of commentary on the affluent through…

Just an average Tuesday for Jack Nicholson.

It didn't immerse me as much as I hoped it would and it was a little too slow moving. However, I can't deny that this is a brilliant piece of film-making.
The use of colour, sound, the score and of course the camera-work and perfect framing paired with some brilliant performances from Nicholson and Duvall creates an ambiguous, eerie and unsettling tale of insanity.
I don't like Kubrick. His direction in this film…
