Joseph Howell’s review published on Letterboxd:
I pinched a nerve and tore a muscle, so no way in hell was I going to work today (and thankfully they were cool with that). Fortunately, I finally have HBO Max. Unfortunately, I watched this.
The only positive I can say is “it was less boring than The Highwayman” and that I laughed hard when Denzel grabbed Jared Leto’s boner. Everything else reeks of mediocrity. Denzel is clearly uninterested in any of this, Rami Malik mumbles all of his dialogue and Jared Leto continues to be the biggest “wow, really? This guy?” academy award winning actor currently working. Also, I’m pretty convinced John Lee Hancock is one of the most milquetoast directors working today.
