This film may not be Miyazaki’s best, but it is still excellent in its own right. I really enjoyed this film. Of all Studio Ghibli films I have seen so far the music in this one struck me the most. Beautiful & melodic throughout, it helped make each frame even more meaningful. Amazing animation (as usual) with a solid storyline & a bitter-sweet but satisfying ending, another wonderful film from Studio Ghibli & Hayao Miyazaki.

This was decent enough… I wasn’t blown away but I still enjoyed this film for what it was. This has an amazing cast with some really solid performances. Cusack & Liotta were both great in this. One of my favorite parts of this is the setting. The dark & rainy frames were perfect for what they were trying to do. I actually did not see the plot twist coming, I thought it was very well done & that helped bump this up to a 3 star film for me.

The first thing I thought when I finished this film was how angry I am at myself for waiting this long to watch this masterpiece. This is not only one of my favorite animated films I have ever seen, but one of my favorite films in general. First off the animation is spectacular & colorful. Every frame truly felt like a work of art. The soundtrack is absolutely awesome. The story is amazing & engaging throughout. The writing is intelligent & very refreshing.…

Another Hayao Miyazaki film, another gem. This film has such a joyful feel throughout I couldn’t help but smile while watching. Of all the Ghibli films I have seen, this one might have the most stunning visuals yet. The colors are so vibrant, every frame is beautiful. The storyline is simple but flows effortlessly and the relationship between Ponyo & Sosuke is adorable. The ending felt a tad rushed, but that would be one of my few complaints. All in all, a truly charming & imaginative film, which felt like a breath of fresh air as I was watching.
