Goodfellas: Las Vegas isn’t as tightly constructed as its predecessor but still a joy to watch. How many Scorsese movies aren’t a joy to watch? He’s beloved for a reason.
I never once looked at the running time, and at 3 hours and 20 minutes, that means something is going right. The Irishman is told in the same structure as Goodfellas, but in a much less bombastic way. De Niro is fantastic as a mob enforcer caught between two loyalties. Marty has made 5+ mob movies at this point and I could continue to watch more. Bravo to cinema!
