A better superhero origin story than any Marvel movie. Nancy Thompson is SUCH a badass. After everything she went through in the original, she refuses to put it behind her and dives back in, every single day, and makes dealing with nightmares her life's work. And then she trains an army of rejects who are going through exactly what she did, teaching them how to give themselves GODDAMN SUPERPOWERS so they can fight back. So much of these movies are about how important it is for teens to have adults in their lives who believe them, something Nancy didn't have and is determined to be for these kids. They didn't all make it (RIP Taryn, you gorgeous punk goddess) but she gave them a fighting chance. Loneliness is a death sentence, resistance is never futile, dream your own way.
