  F*ck what you’ve heard about this movie! This story is layered and reveals so many social critiques. Perhaps the most impactful discourse it initiates is western culture’s twisted obsession with tragedy, and our culture’s pattern of turning trauma into profit. It artfully weaves the commercial pop industry, the complex of child stars, and national tragedy together to showcase an All-American tapestry of cultural quirks! I was hoping for a more emotional ending, but I thoroughly enjoyed the story, and Natalie Portman’s performance.
