Feels a tad sterile compared to Eli Roth’s other films, often cutting away when the going gets too gory, and the obligatory killer reveal falls flat, but there’s just enough to chew on for it to qualify as a worthwhile holiday-themed feast.

Remember when I said I couldn’t imagine Mission: Impossible IIIΒ being topped? Well, it turns out she’s a vers bottom.

From style to scope and all-around spectacle, FalloutΒ managed to one-up J.J. Abrams’s directorial debut in nearly every conceivable way. There are even a ridiculous amount of lens flares to contend with (although, I think J.J. takes that category, as they’re slightly more intrusive here)! And in terms of full-tilt action, death-defying stunts, breathtaking landscapes, face mask fake-outs, technologically advanced doodads, double-and-triple crossing agents, terroristic menaces, and just plain, impossibleΒ luck… it managed to one-up the entire franchise.

Terrifier 2 is a once in a lifetime theater experience.

A passionate display of sheer and utter depravity, Damien Leone's pure love for the genre is felt in every frame. The man is a virtuoso of special effects, and he delivers carnage in VATS, crafting some of the most gloriously gut-wrenching and wholly ingenious set pieces I've ever had the pleasure of witnessing. And it's all brought together by David Howard Thornton's bigger-than-life performance as Art the Clown (made even…

I know, I'm just as shocked as you are by my rating. But fuck, this movie is a blast! Taut, tense, and scary as hell, Scream VI is a marked improvement over Scream V; and a welcome transition from that film's exhausting nostalgia-baiting and general lack of identity, to a fresh direction for the franchise that, once it gains its footing, takes off at a full sprintβ€”delivering some of the series's most instantly memorable moments! That's not to say that…
