Dónal’s review published on Letterboxd:
An adaptation of a classic that’s so gloriously Mis en scene. For sure one of the best looking movies to come out this year and Coen gets these talented actors to really sell the material.
While I always respect Shakespeare adaptations for sticking to the original language I do think there needs to be more attempts to modernise it personally, unpopular take I know. But I just feel a lot of the richness of Shakespeares works is the storytelling itself. Macbeth is a wonderfully chilling tale of murder, greed and fate that if modernised would be insanely popular among general audiences. But that’s just my opinion.
I really liked it, but id have struggle convincing somebody else to watch it
