Judas and the Black Messiah is a very riveting yet disheartening account of the events leading to the death of Illinois Black Panther Chairman Fred Hampton. Daniel Kaluuya and Lakeith Stanfield give fantastic performances. I am especially fascinated with Stanfield’s performance as he plays William O’Neal the man known for infiltrating the organization for the FBI. The inner turmoil within in his character was portrayed beautifully. Shaka King in his major debut provides nothing but sharp direction and energy. There are very few down moments in this film. This was executed very well on a technical level. The ending was incredibly tragic and shocking on several levels. A must watch.
