Johnny Guitar 1954
A truly unique western for its time. Probably the only one I can think of, that places two women at the center of the conflict. The men in this film think and act according to the whims and thoughts of these women. The performances are outstanding in this and the dialogue is superb. It doesn’t get too melodramatic either, and thus has some very solid pacing. Fascinating characters and themes to go along with the story make this an exceptional western film.

Promising Young Woman 2020
Promising Young Woman completely blew away my expectations. Carey Mulligan gives an outstanding performance; hope she at least gets some recognition for it. Just when it thought I knew where this was going it completely goes in a different direction. Excellent writing, framing, and soundtrack. The ending left me speechless. It might not be agreeable with everyone but it will definitely get people talking.
