emily in paris on anti-depressants with a drinking problem meets ingrid goes west.
watched the trailer and i was so prepared to hate this. but i loved every single minute. so of it’s time that the film has barely kept up with the current trend cycles by the time it’s come out. and it 100% won’t age well as the social media landscape in the film won’t even exist in a few years. but it’s a perfect snapshot of 2022.

natural dialogue, gorgeous perms and a beautiful portrayal of female friendship, loneliness and what it’s like to lose your pal to their new boyfriend. all the frances ha comparisons are legit too - this was the blueprint for sure!
also yes i did enjoy a young christopher guest’s hairy chest
