Sometimes I think I'm too jaded to absorb all the little beauties and curiosities of the world. But then I watched Marcel the Shell take in Echo Park Lake for the first time. He says something like "I might cry...there's fountains in the lake." And you know what? That's the exact same way I earnestly look at and talk about Echo Park Lake. Thanks sweet Marcel for reminding me I still have a little wonder left in me.

Those masks are so scary!! The poster is so scary!! But the movie is just a slow survival story with no bite. Like, there’s an awesome Ethan Hawke performance just CLAMORING to get out but he winds up having very little to do as The Grabber.

With that I have two tangential things to say:
    - It’s days like this that make horror particularly necessary
    - James Ransone is so hot

He was earnest, thoughtful, empathetic. A true artist, a sharer, and a listener.

There’s a lot of listening going on in C’mon C’mon. To children, to interview recordings, to bedtime stories, to phone…
