Fantastic Mr. Fox

Fantastic Mr. Fox ★★★½

Fantastic Mr Fox. Fun fact about me, I have never read a single Roald Dahl book in my life. As a kid, I just simply wasn't that interested in reading and the books I actually I actually read as a kid were always dumb ones like Diary of a Wimpy Kid or Captain Underpants. I just never found myself interested in Dahl's books and this was at a time when he was still a famous children's author.

To be honest, I only watched this film because of everything declaring it as one of the best animated films of all time. After watching it, I can at least see why people say this.

Fantastic Mr Fox is definitely an interesting kids film. But in a world where all kids film have to be either dumb mindless entertainment or depressing sad stories trying to grab an easy Oscar. This film is definitely needed in our society, having both a smart aspect in a very fun story. Wes Anderson did do a great job with this film and like I said before with Mary and Max, ill always appreciate a animated film with a unique and quirky style, which Fanatic Mr Fox absolutely has and uses it to its advantage.

The only reason to why I don't want to rate it higher though is simply because I don't know whether or not this film is faithful to the original story. Like I said, I've never read any of Dahl's books, including Fantastic Mr Fox. But as a film on its own, its fine and I would highly recommend it for children that haven't seen it.
