Rewatched with Barry Jenkins' commentary (thanks to yanni's review for convincing me to do it asap) and I am utterly convinced that Barry (along with Tarell Alvin McCraney) is nothing short of a genius.
He spends so much time praising Britell's score, Laxton's cinematography, and literally every actor's performances you can tell how much he cared about the movie and everyone involved... bye this movie is so amazing and important I can talk about it for hours
