Christian Di Leo’s review published on Letterboxd:
Holy fucking shit, what a ride! After James Wan blew us away with the creative and visual orgasm that was Aquaman, he once again dives right back into the horror genre with this love-letter to 80s schlock like Basket Case, Brain Damage, the Evil Dead franchise and films from the Troma catalogue. Malignant is insane, beautifully shot and completely fucking goofy from top to bottom. Wan hasn't been this off-the-wall since Dead Silence, you can tell that he's having an absolutely ball with this thing, especially when it comes to the tone and the mayhem happening on-screen. How he got this made you might ask? Well, that one billion dollar Aquaman box office might have something to do with it. Malignant is honestly some the most fun I've had at the movies in quite some time, it's a gory, insane and wildly entertaining motion picture. Wan, buddy, please make like 5 more of these. Bat-shit excellence.
