Marcy’s review published on Letterboxd:
This is one of the scariest movies I've ever seen.
It seems like a lot of Twin Peaks fans were disappointed in this because they wanted to see what happens after the season 2 finale. When I found out what the plot of this movie was I was initially disappointed too, but I let some time pass and was able to watch this with a more open mind. I wasn't enamored with the first 30 minutes but once the Twin Peaks theme kicks in I was entranced. I've seen it touted that this film is "pointless" because fans of the TV show already know what happens to Laura Palmer, but that's missing the point. The TV show doesn't have a sequence as entrancing as when the camera goes behind a door that's in a painting.
I have multiple Letterboxd friends who love this movie who have never watched the show. I think Twin Peaks: Fire Walk with Me will always be divisive but it will also be remembered as an important work of art that can be appreciated both by itself and as part of something bigger.
