It's undeniably a mess and the Eddie Brock storyline is unsalvageable, while even the good parts are mostly just a result of the fantastic work that the previous two films did in building up our investment in the characters.
BUT
I can't bring myself to hate it, especially when there's so clearly an eye as talented as Raimi's behind the camera.
