• Eileen

    Eileen

    ★★★★

Love a movie where the final act comes completely out of nowhere. I wish Eileen leaned more on its pulpiness, but the connection between Anne Hathaway and Thomasin McKenzie is downright electric.

    Bless you, Rian Johnson

  • Don't Look Up

    Don't Look Up

    ★★★

A fairly entertaining, overlong mess, but certain sequences also feel ripped right out of my anxiety dreams. The final scenes are among the best things we’ve seen from McKay

  • Licorice Pizza

    ★★★

A fine nostalgic romp, wish I cared about the core romance.

  • The Rescue

    The Rescue

    ★★★★

The Rescue (Disney+) does a remarkable job of recreating the Thai cave rescue, it’s refreshing to see something that’s so genuinely hopeful these days

  • Mortal Kombat

    Mortal Kombat

    ★★★½

More of the Mortal Kombat cinematic universe please. Loved the choreography, set pieces, and awesome Asian cast. Just wished it was edited less quickly and leaned more into the batshit camp. And yes, the soundtrack isn’t anywhere as iconic as the first movie

  • In the Earth

    In the Earth

    ★★½

An experimental, trippy and ultimately tedious bit of pandemic horror. I’m sure it’ll please some Wheatley fans, but I wish it felt like more than just a COVID project.

    Don't forget to breathe.
