I think most of us have at least that one odd film that we love. For those who know me, they are often confused when they learn that this is one of my favorite films of all-time. I grew up in a strict religious home and shunned religious dogmatism from a young age. I found that getting out of sunday school was easy: all you had to do was ask questions - even though in my mind these should have…

"In the end, the son suffers the sins of the father."

Lonliness. Rage. Confusion. Fear. This film touches upon this spectrum of emotions. I cannot fully express how much I relate to Roy and the tribulations that he faces. It is almost a perfect mirror. My father, growing up, was almost larger than life. I wanted to emualte him and make him proud. Yet, there was a distance to him. Some kind of darkness that was a part of him…

What a phenomenal experience at the cinema. This movie was made to watch on the big screen and was some of the most fun I have had in the theater in a long time. Those last 30 minutes are going to probably make me go back and watch this again. They are intense. I appreciated the 80’s spectacle that was the original, but it’s sequel is probably the superior film. I fucking loved it.

This is definitely a Raimi film and I rather enjoyed it. It is a visual feast to put it lightly - a weird trip that is sure to at the very least, grab ahold and keep your attention. I think only Raimi could have pulled this off and maintained the sort of interest the films has. There are some interesting ideas being thrown around and I’m sure Marvel will be utilizing them with future projects. I appreciated Marvel pushing the…

A slight twist on the haunted house tale. I have to admit, the production was very well done and itself makes this a worthy watch, I think. The sound design made it feel like you’re right there underwater with them, very claustrophobic. The couple aren’t all that interesting and fulfill the typical sort of stranded couple who find themselves in a predicament. Not great, but again, the whole filming underwater in a structure was well done.
