So many moments of this movie feel slow and... un-special? Everything feels so matter of fact. I definitely prefer the strange, throw-it-all-at-the-wall silliness of Bogus Journey, though it was strange to watch this one second and retroactively realize which bits in Bogus Journey were just callbacks. The loopy time shenanigans of the third act are my favorite part of this movie. The “hot young stepmom” runner is so weird. 80s movies were all so desperate to be horny without really knowing how to pull it off and everyone who came of age in that decade is complicit in the current popularity of stepmom porn.
