Just one word.

The Graduate must be one of a select few films — maybe even the first, I don’t know — to spearhead the subgenre of comedy that heavily relies upon unnerving the audience through awkward interaction upon discomforting situation. And it’s still one of the best to ever do it.
The whole film is chock-full of metaphors, some of which I understood, most of which flew over my head, but all of which are greatly entertaining nonetheless.
